About Our Hospital
Kindred Hospital Delaware County is a 39-bed, all private rooms, long-term acute care hospital within a hospital serving the population of Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester and Montgomery counties. The hospital has been licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and accredited by The Joint Commission as an acute care hospital.
Kindred Hospital Delaware County provides specialized, interdisciplinary care for patients in need of extended hospitalization and acute care services. Patients are referred for continuation of acute medical care because the severity and complexity of their medical condition precludes them from being discharged to an acute rehabilitation facility, a subacute facility or skilled nursing facility. Our services include management of ventilator weaning, cardiovascular and peripheral vascular disease, infection disease, wound care, nutritional support, dialysis, rehabilitation - physical, occupational or speech therapy and antibiotic therapy. At our hospital, your attending physician will see you daily and your consulting physicians will also be actively involved in your care, daily if required. We continuously seek out best practice standards and strive to achieve a positive outcome for our patients.
Clinical services offered include: 24-hour nursing and respiratory care, 24-hour laboratory and radiology services, telemetry, daily physician visits, onsite pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social services and registered dietitians. As a hospital-in-hospital model we also have immediate access to other services such as operating rooms and CT scanner. Patient care is focused on maximizing recovery and advancing to the next level of care in the continuum. This is accomplished through care planning and weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.
